I was so excited to be asked by our old friends to do the flowers at their daughter’s wedding, which was two Saturday’s ago. It’s always special to be involved in weddings, but when the wedding is for a family friend, then it’s even more so. Hannah and Ronan got married at Mavis’s Kitchen, near Uki, in heavenly Northern NSW. The back drop to their ceremony was Mt Warning and despite the grey morning, the afternoon cleared up to be a gorgeous Autumn afternoon.
But back to the flowers … weddings in out of town places are always lovely, however for the florist, it presents logistical challenges. But challenges are fun and I love a list! There’s a lot of bucket carting, car packing and list making. Energy is definitely your friend, but not always around when the day begins before dawn and finishes well after dark. But it is absolutely worth the hard work, when you see the smile on the bride’s face when she sees her bouquet. It was such a happy wedding with a big heart and a job where everything went smoothly. Phew!
