May Wedding with Wheat & Foliage
My friends, Paul & Lynda were married in May and held their wedding reception in their lovely home. The bride grew up in the wheat country of western New South Wales and asked that wheat be incorporated into their wedding florals. Wheat was harvested and lovingly hung to dry by her parents, then transported up to Brisbane for the big day. My studio was overflowing with wheat and foliage as we began constructing the wedding arch and the giant hanging wreath.
A mix of foliage and textures were used to create the hanging wreath, arch, bouquet, flower crowns, button holes and table styling. We used camellia, gardenia, eucalyptus, peppercorn, lace fern and of course wheat! Ivory roses, white tulips, sea holly & lavender added colour and scent. The smell of all the greenery and roses was intoxicating!
